I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and taking my temperature accurately three times a day is part of the regime as a high temperature could spell real trouble. I did have an 'under the tongue' one when I last did chemo but it was a bit of a faff and if you didn't note the result straight away it was soon gone from your mind. This has a memory function and retains the last 9 readings which is really handy. Also where it scores is that it is so fast when compared with other methods. Into the ear. press for 1 second, it beeps and that's it. Accuracy seems pretty good but I have not actually compared it with the other thermometer. No real downsides except that if you go into the temperature memory recall you then have to wait for the unit to close down before taking your temperature. This is only 1 minute but seems longer (a bit like waiting for a kettle to boil).
